ABOUT KIMBA

If life is a battlefield, art is Kimba’s weapon of choice. Since 1999, he has used words to paint pictures that capture hope, framing life as a journey rich with opportunities to learn and discover greatness.

His versatility has provided a platform to perform for politicians, corporate executives, and festival audiences, as well as to lead programmes for community groups, churches, universities, and schools. He has written for Sony Viacom, CBS, and West One Music Group, with his music featured in film and on television.

Kimba has also been privileged to serve as a visiting artist at the Victoria and Albert Museum, Tate Modern, and the Houses of Parliament. He is an Oracy Development Artist for the renowned Polka Children’s Theatre and London Slambassador for Authors Abroad, while spearheading creative writing workshops in schools around the world.

Over the past two years, he has visited more than 150 schools, delivering a fresh and inspiring approach to creative writing and literature to over 70,000 children aged 4–16.

Kimba has received support from leading figures in hip hop and the music industry, including Chuck D (Public Enemy), DJ Premier (Gang Starr), Lauren Laverne (BBC Radio 6 Music), DJ Jazzy Jeff, and Posdnuos (De La Soul), among others.

A former All-American football player, Kimba ranked in the top 15 nationally during his collegiate career and went on to play semi-professionally before relocating to the UK in 2006 with his British wife. He now lives in London, where he is a devoted husband and father to his young family.
